Class Action and other Lawsuits (Updates and Contacts):

Background on Age Discrimination, Hispanic EEO Lawsuits and:

NEW FOR 2006 NEW LAWSUIT: Age Discrimination - DRR RIF LAWSUIT.

Several employees across the FDIC have initiated EEO class action discrimination lawsuits. At this time they include an Age Discrimination Lawsuit and a Hispanic Discrimination Lawsuit. (If there are other lawsuits filed in the future the news related to those filings will be posted on this website).

These lawsuits have been working their way through the legal system for several years.

The Age Discrimination lawsuit alleges that the FDIC by plan and practice has discriminated against older FDIC employees in its promotion and other practices. Documents filed by the participants show that during board meetings with Board members and FDIC senior staff that discussions were held (from verbatim transcripts) on how to get older workers to leave the FDIC due to the need to downsize the organization.

This Age Discrimination lawsuit was filed several years ago. Listed below is information for each of the filings we have been provided by concerned employees. Below is also information as to who to contact directly for information related to this lawsuit.

( UPDATE - LATE 2005) Recently Chapter 207 learned that most and possibly all activity on this lawsuit ceased. We are attempting to determine the official status of this lawsuit. If you have any information please contact us at our official email address.

The Hispanic Lawsuit represents all Hispanic employees who have been affected by Employment Discrimination. This lawsuit has been around for a number of years. Below is a link from the lawsuit website which identifies who to contact for getting more information related to this lawsuit.

In January 2005 the EEOC certified the Nationwide Class Action Lawsuit alleging employment discrimination filed on behalf of Hispanic employees against the FDIC.

( UPDATE - LATE 2005) Chapter 207 has been informed by a reliable source that this lawsuit is alive and well. If you have any information that you would like to share we will attempt to load it onto this website.

In March 2006, this chapter learned that a number of DRR employees who were affected by the 2005 RIF in DRR have filed a DRR EEO Class Action lawsuit in Federal District Court in Washington, DC. Below is the only information we have concerning that lawsuit. If you have any information please contact Chapter 207 and we will attempt to post news on this page.

(Click Here for more information on NTEU’s continuing efforts on the DRR RIF in September 2005 – multiple Grievances filed and the status).
